This blog is my journey to get authentic cuisine from around the world.. where ever I go..
My greatest pleasure is eating food from a wide range of cultures and I prefer to eat that food as authentically as possible. However when you see a restaurant that offers "Authentic Food" it's often an Oxymoron.
This is most true of Chinese food which has been Americanized but Chinese restaurants are not the only ones to blame. There are Italian places that serve a type of food only made in the US, and then there are the places that serve food from two regions or countries like places that serve Japanese and Thai. Or Japanese joints owned by people not from Japan. American isn't along with this "problem"; Korean BBQ in Japan has been tweaked for Japanese tastes, and there are Korean restaurants that serve Vietnamese Pho adjusted for the Korean palate.
I have nothing against any thing I mention above ethically or morally but in my heart I really want to taste the real flavors esp. when the sign above the door reads, "Authentic."
